Sculpture

Waves – Large and Small

2007

Two lighting entrance sculptures commissioned for Southsea Town Centre, Hampshire. Made in mild and stainless steel at 7 and 10 meters tall. The theme of ‘contemporary seaside’ inspired Charles to design two Wave sculptures with mild steel textured ‘wave ripple’ bases supporting stainless steel ‘quills’ sweeping in large curved shapes. Each ‘quill’ contains a fibre optic coloured light and lense that changes colour continually at night to a choreographed format.
